There are several advantages for using HD-TVI over IP cameras. HD-TVI allows you to migrate the customer from analog to high definition at the pace they can afford, because the analog cameras will still work with the HD-TVI system. HD-TVI cameras can be run over RG59 cable up to 1500 feet. HD-TVI has less picture lag because the DVR does the processing of  the video where as the IP cameras  process the video before it is sent to the NVR,  which causes picture lag. HD-TVI cameras will work even if the network is down, where as the IP cameras won’t. HD-TVI cameras stay at the camera designations that you assigned them if the power goes out, where as IP cameras reassign themselves depending on which cameras reset first. Speco offers a 5 year warranty on their HD-TVI cameras where as the IP cameras have a 2 year warranty.
